Our Story
Our Story: Why I Created Wonder Squat
I’m a fitness lover, and I’ve always been someone who likes to build things.
But Wonder Squat didn’t start in a lab or a studio—it started at home.
My grandmother is 82 years old, and I love her deeply. Over time, I began to notice little changes: she moved more slowly, standing up took more effort, and everyday motions that used to feel natural started to feel… cautious. Not because she wasn’t trying—but because time can quietly take away leg strength.
I wanted to help her do something simple and practical. Squats are one of the most fundamental movements in daily life—standing up from a chair, sitting down, picking something up, climbing steps. So I thought: if we could make squats feel more approachable at home, that could make a real difference in confidence and consistency.
That’s how the first version of Wonder Squat was born.
I designed a spring-assisted structure to help with the up-and-down motion. I added a front support pad to help her find a comfortable position. My grandmother tried it for a few days and smiled, saying, “This is interesting.”
But then she stopped using it.
When I asked why, she said something that stayed with me:
“I still don’t feel steady. I’m not fully comfortable.”
In that moment, I realized something important: for many people, the hardest part isn’t motivation—it’s confidence. If a movement feels uncertain, even a helpful tool won’t be used consistently.
So I started the second journey.
Over the next six months, I tested and revised Wonder Squat five times—obsessing over one goal: make it feel stable, safe, and reassuring.
That’s when I added two perfectly positioned support handles. Now, during the squat, she could hold on and feel secure. The movement felt controlled. The “I’m not sure” feeling started to fade.
I’ll never forget the day she finished a set, looked up at me, and smiled:
“Now I feel comfortable.”
From then on, she began using it almost every day—just ten minutes at a time. Not because she forced herself, but because it felt approachable. She told me she felt more confident standing up, moving around, and simply doing everyday things. She looked brighter. More energetic. More like herself.
For me, Wonder Squat has never been “just a product.”
It’s a simple wish:
To help the people we love feel steadier—so they can keep moving with confidence.
And we’re grateful that QVC selected Wonder Squat. We believe that through QVC, more families can discover a simple, home-friendly way to build consistency—starting with just ten minutes a day.
Guides you down. Helps you stand up.
